Max, Reflection 5

1. When I start teaching Biology much of my time will be dealing with DNA and genetics. I will need ways to not only help explain this material but keep it interesting. http://www.dnaftb.org/dnaftb/ That website explains many issues dealing with DNA very well. There are many animations and a new place on how DNA affects cancer. It could be a great learning tool to use in the classroom when going over DNA because DNA can be complicated and visuals and hands on activities can make the material much easier for students to grasp and understand.

2. If I teach at a big enough school I could end up teaching an Anatomy class. If this happens I could use this website to help go over the lungs. http://www.smm.org/heart/lungs/top.html A very nice site to use with some good pictures and some facts. It will hopefully help the students see what is going on and grasp the concepts of circulation and respiration.

3. Another class I could teach would be zoology. A website that I found that is very nice is http://www.sciencebuff.org/science_research.php There is some current research information on there, information on lectures, and links to other science programs. It is a pretty expansive website that I could use for many different animals I will go over in a Zoology class.

I'm very impressed! These are very good websites!

I found this under your third link http://www.sciencebuff.org/staff_picks.php

Very informative.

Also the second one--the surgery videos!!?? :) They tried to use different media components, such as images, animations, videos, and even interactive "tools". Excellent!
